Last year, this car went about 145 mph (Yamaha R1 engine, naturally aspirated):
Well, we all know that adding more turbo makes life better, not to mention faster. Here's the latest engine, a 1.3L Hayabusa with, um, some extra intake plumbing:
399 hp at the wheels. 30 pounds of boost. Passenger seat is replaced by a huge air-to-water intercooler.
The owner, who also does lowly TSDs as well as more intense stuff like La Carrera Panamericana, reported that the temp gauge goes up about as quickly as the revs, so hopefully it'll last. Last until when? Until 200 mph, or more.

Thats awesome!
The Hot Rod Gold with the old school graphics and aluminum blanking plates really make that car.
Looks fast sitting still!

Any pictures of how the transmission fits in, hooks up to the axles, etc?

Re: Bonneville Saab 93
Bringing this back from the dead to report that the car (nicknamed the Flying Pickle) went 177 mph (unofficial) yesterday. It sounds like they're debating whether to go for a 200-mph attempt now or wait until this fall.
