With everyone in town for the holidays I grabbed a pic of all the C900's lined up at the farm.

I just realized they are all 3dr hatches and all 4/5 spds.

And they all don't have a license plates in the front. You don't need one in PA?

PA does not have front plates. Typically, an original PA car will have no front plate bracket, and an un-drilled front bumper! Generally speaking saabs always came with plate brackets regardless of where they were going, however some cars did not. My DeLorean for example, always a PA car, has no bracket, no screw holes, no means to attach a front plate what so ever.

MA used to be the same way until about 15 years ago, now they issue front plates but the only people who enforce using them are inspection stations run by kids who were in diapers when the state started issuing front plates. I got pulled over in NH one day (a front plate state) for not having a front plate on a MA car.

Luke, your yard looks like my parents did on holiday visits until a few years ago. Now there's a 9000, 9-3, and 9-5 in the mix with the four C900 3dr 5spds.

A lot of times dealers here would put on an accessory filler plate on the front bumpers. I have a good collection of original "SAAB" and "900 turbo" embossed plates. One of the local dealers also had a plate with the outline of a 99 grill \_/ embossed in it which was pretty cool.

Luke, any chance you would give up one of those "900 turbo" dealer plates to a good cause? I've been looking for one for a while. I think you need to have a plate in Utah, but i count about 40% of people actually do here and I've never been snagged for it. Anyway, i think it looks much better with "900 turbo" than the plate or the empty plate frame.

I frequently see these in the yards too, they are often still shaped somewhat like "900 turbo" or what ever they say, but the white lettering is almost always all gone from plate :(
