I was looking for photos of "Patina Rods" when I came across this.

I have to admit this style of hot rods are very appealing. Very cool use of an old military truck. Wonder if its a chopped stock chassis or a completely custom one.

Hard to tell.

I agree that hot rodders are thinking outside the box.

I want to do a 93B with suicide doors, rear wheel drive, with a 16v turbo turned around in it. slammed stupid low. Truss bar front suspension.

Of course I would have to start with a total rat, the purists will have my head for hacking up such a rare car.

everyday i stare at mine thinking about a rwd conversion.....i have seen pics of a blue 99 converted with a small block mopar...i'm a mopar guy but would have to stick with a saab motor then the thought drifts to maybe a toyota 5 spd and rear (for one they made them, for two parts would be easier to come by)

This thing uses a 6X6 military truck chassis flipped over, axles above the frame. Not a fast one, however, with a six from a Chevelle. Imagine this is geared really low anyway.

found more info on the web about this thing.

It's done in a build style called "Billetproof" where you are limited to using parts made pre 70's.

There was an old 95 wagon that had a 16v turbo shoehorned into the back of it. It had an automatic box though. I saw it sitting at Sports Car Service in Delaware.

Wonder if that red 900 is still around?

I don't know, I've seen that 2 stroke Sonett with the 16V turbo and RWD stuffed in it at a lot of SOCs...

That 95 is still around. My friend Tom Remedios owns it.

I wish. Last time I was at his place, it hadn't ran in years. We had pushed it around to fit his Jubilee in the garage. He recently moved across the country and I'm not sure if he took it with him or not, sadly. Maybe I should drop him a line...
