Just curious what you guys think. I think it looks very cool. (Grille and bezels are off a 1969 and are on a 1977 car). To mount the bezels the headlamp buckets had to be changed to earlier ones.

I know, for an authentic 1977 car in 2013 it should plastic, broken or missing all together!

I really like the early grille. Not used to seeing it with those corner markers though.
On that cream color, a black grille would look good.
It's your car dude,... do whatever floats your boat. It is after all a part that can be changed rather easily if you get bored with the look, or come across a cherry plastic one that is right for the car.

I'm all for mods you don't have to hack the car up for. if you change your mind you can always switch it back!

I think it looks pretty good but I agree that I think on your car the black grille might look better.

I'll get out my JB weld, scrap ABS and Bulldog and fix up that '77 grille - I'm serious about that! I think that if I want the original look, I could get it a good restored grille but it's rare to see the 1969-1972 grilles on the road anyway. I did have a chance to pick up a black plastic 1973-1974 grille which is really robust which uses the aluminum bezels. I may try that too.

Hmm. you know, if you had the bumper stainless strip, or at least the plastic & "chrome" with the rubber center, I think I'd like it. It's hard to picture the completed look with that missing though, they look wrong with out that.
Less brake more gas!

1972 was the year they had this grille with the stainless steel band on the first rubber bumpers. And yes, I have those, just not installed yet. ;-)

I concur. A little more bling to match the grille might balance it out nicely.

Here is what I'm going for (1972 model year). I will install the steel band after I clean it up and polish it. I also plan to install a steel band I have on the rear bumper as well.

That bottom picture is awesome. Because of the page bend, it looks like they gave it wicked positive camber haha.

The bumper strip will pull the look together.

And replace the black fender lip covers with chrome (if you can find a suitable replacement)
