I need to do more studying up on my Land Rovers, and gawd I love unsprung weight....total control. I really like it when you are getting bigtime axletramp on both axles at the same time. my dad used to drive 1st gen broncos all the time.

Pair that up with your 300lb flywheel, and you've got yourself a winner when it comes to offroading.

Don't worry Matt, I took our conversation on chassis setup to heart on the new car:

Just take a page from rock crawlers build manuals, fill the tires with 100 pounds of lead shot. Lower COG FTW!!!

Hey cool a fellow Land Rover owner on the site, I have two Rovers a '97 and '98 both discoverys. Rovers North is an awesome resource for parts. I love mine, these things are unbeliveable off road. If you ever want to go offroading I know some good trails :D

Some more photos after I did some cleaning and looking over of the truck. It is actually in better shape then I had initially thought though it still needs some attention.

While we're on the subject of our favorite offroaders... LandRover celebrates it's 60th birthday. I left the last image in the series because.... well, seriously...

Some photos from my weekend of wrenching:

I have the front fenders and hood off the truck. The dash board and gauges are off the firewall along with the heater box and pedal assemblies. After smashing a finger and cutting it through a kevlar glove I opted to drill the heads off the floor bolts instead of undoing them...much faster and easier. The passenger floor is next, have apply some heat to the drivers side bulkhead to frame bolt, and then pull the door and windshield and the bulkhead should be free.
