Wonder if it has any floors left in it after sitting for 15 years in a field. That 460 motor might be a bit on the thirsty side.

Working on getting the cowboy sleeper mounted on the truck. Made some brackets from angle iron, and used carriage bolts thru the floor to attach the box to the bracket. I used self tapping bolts to attach the brackets to the inside rail of the bedside. I wanted to leave the bedliner intact as much as possible.
I'm heading over to the shop today to mix up some epoxy so I can fill some holes from previous hardware mounting. I hope to finish all the body prep work on the cap this week, in the hopes of shooting color next weekend.
The front cab mount at the rad support is seperated, and I need to determine a course of action. Not going to be easy since tge rad support is rusted out at the bottom. Inspection is due at the end of July.

An added bonus is that I am able to lay flat on my back inside it.
Not Ideal for anyone 5'8"+.
Figured out how to seal it to the cab, and remove the rear window completely. Ill post up pics as I reach that stage. Right now just trying to get the exterior buttoned up. Shopping for some sort of pad, like a yoga mat, maybe 1" thick, dense foam. Gonna lay that on the bottom , and overlay with cloth or carpeting.

Thought about looking at the foam floor tiles that interlock.Used to have some wrestling mat, dunno what happened to it though.

If I get this I could pull a trailer that holds 2 cars and room for tools, spares, and room to sleep a few friends.
The price on the window is 27,500 but a friend who knows the owner says he will take much less.
Can't push snow with it though, so I would have to keep the F150.

I had to do a little maintenance on the shop truck this weekend.
I had been putting up with the noisy accessory belt for a while. I got a cheap Dayco replacement, and it squealed since day one. The PS pump was gradually getting noisier. So I pulled off the belt to see what the pulleys were doing. The PS pump had alot of play in the shaft so I decided to replace it. I replaced both the pressure and return lines as well. Somehow I managed to chip the corner of the plastic pump pulley so I need to get a replacement for that. The idler pulley is a little noisy, so Ill get another one of those for 8.00. Might as well get a quality belt. Maybe a Gates or something.
The puller tool is a pain in the ass. That pump pulley didnt want to budge even with a breaker bar, and some other persuaders. The old lines were trash too, and didnt want to come out easily. The whole job fought me today. I ended up damaging the threads on a borrowed puller tool to boot. I estimated 2 hours total, and ended up with much more time in it, and it's still not done.
At the last inspection I was informed that the rad support was rusted out and needed repair to pass next year. And the motor mounts were shot. New motor mounts for this are only 13.00 for both sides. The rear wheel arches are rusting out, and will need attention. The stamped arch patch panel is only 30.00. The pump, pulley, belt, fluid, hoses, and idler were only 200.00
You gotta love those old FORD trucks for that. Parts for them are definitely cheap.

After the PS pump ordeal, I got it all back together, still noisy and squealing. I had already replaced the tensioner last summer, as well as the alternator. The AC compressor spins freely and makes no noise, but the smog pump had some resistance and noise. I replaced that next, but the noise continued. I have a Gates belt to put on it. If that doesn't do it, the only thing left to replace is the water pump, or the clutch fan. I plan to replace the clutch fan with an electric fan at some point. I think it will help a little with the fuel economy.

If I squirt some tire shine on the belt, it instantly gets quiet.
A new water pump is only 40 bucks, but the pieces to do electric fans is about 150 unless I can jury rig a junkyard fan, and find a cheap fan controller. Im two components away from everything on the front of the motor being new.
Ford parts are nice and cheap.
