Setting up a pair of Weber DCOE 45s on a cross ram manifold.

Postby tweek's Turbos » Mon Feb 03, 2014 4:58 pm

I have been browsing the Saab V4 pages and have a start of a thought, but I may be hitting some of that English US/English UK pot holes.

I want to set up a pair of 45s on a bored out 1700cc engine. I'm not looking for a dyno warrior just a strong running V4.

One of the members suggests using:
36mm chokes. I am figuring this is the 36mm Venturi.
F9 main emulsion tubes.
135 main jets.

I am having trouble figuring out what the Needle valves, Start Valves, Start Air, and anything else I am missing needs to go on.

I have also read that the instructions that came with the twin weber set up for the v4 had clues on how to set up the carbs. Any of you have a copy or a list of these?

one of the earlier sport and rally catalogs was more of a how to manual than a catalog. If you can get a copy of that it may give you all of the Saab specs.

The June 1972 one I have printed from the net says:
"Included in the carburetor kits are modification specifications. For dual caburetor installations it is important that the carburetors are synchronized and the linkage is straight and in order. No play in the linkage is allowed."

Somebody on the fb group linked this,

That must sound absolutely diabolical.
