I know we don't always have a project question or a new part to show off, but we still do stuff to/with our cars.
Today, I washed off the 85 SPG, took it for a drive, and got my emissions tested.
350K miles and it passed, no problems.
What did you do?

Re: What did you do to/with your SAAB today?
I bought a rebuilt warm up regulator and dreamed of fixing my "hot won't start issue" without installing a stupid button to hijack the system. Then I kept trying to remember what hose did I forget to install and what box it went into in the storage locker. Then I just wanted to drive the car...

I drove my Saab to work... then back home.
I wish my car had winter mood technology.

I changed the exhaust and 75% of the brakes and then got stuck when the last caliper would not cooperate...now the car is waiting patiently until our schedules align without conflict so it can be fixed. i think this is a good time to buy a $30 rebuilt caliper from Rockauto.

Re: What did you do to/with your SAAB today?
Today I am going to wash off the silver SAAB Lemons car.
Then I am going to move the Green 93 900s 2.1 turbo hill climb car outside and wash it off. I am loaning the green car to an old friend for a local Hill climb on June 25-26th. he needs to drive the car some to get used to it before the event.
Then finally move the RED hill climb notch back out of the shop and drive it around a bit and decide if it needs any major attention. Next weekend is the first Solo track trial and I have never run this car hard in 4th gear yet since installing the Garrett GT 28rs turbo.
I hope to spend the next day or 2 cleaning up the shop and putting spares parts away instead of having them laying about everywhere.
Good thing , I am retired. mostly lately, I am just plain tired, but sure having fun with the cars.

Drove mine around... Ever since my "major overhaul" the 2010 Aero has been just peachy, coming up on 90,000 this week.
Less brake more gas!

I put in an 8k tach, worked on some wiring in the dash, replacing bulbs in the dash, and cleaning up the contacts.
Repaired a dash fascia for an 8v base car (no power mirrors).
Replacing the ignition switch.
New roll cage padding.
Getting ready for The Pagoda Hillclimb.
Played with some bicycles, and drank some beer too...
...but not necessarily in that order.

Re: What did you do to/with your SAAB today?
I drove down to Twin Falls today after hearing about a clean 85 8V na 900 in their yard.
I got:
A whaletale, SPG kit, louvers, sunroof cover, vent covers, very clean turn signal set (3, anyway), nice dash bezel, fuel pump and level sender, plus other stuff...
For $220.
I gave the louvers, fuel pump and level sender to Rick O., who helped me. Plus I bought him lunch. Also I owe my informant $30. So let's say $300 total with gas.
It was a good day!

Re: What did you do to/with your SAAB today?
I put about 300 miles on a MD/PA trip today and averaged about 30mpg (hat tip to Jordan's T5 tune). Its nice to have another car to depend on every day but the 900 really is an amazing car that is tons of fun to drive. My 9-3 has more creature comforts, is faster, and easier to drive, but the 900 is an instant smile on the face

Took the SPG for a drive, then pulled the Borla exhaust off. Going back to stock.

Removed the exhaust from the Hillclimb car, in an attempt to patch another crack...
The time has come to just replace it.
