Simplifying my life, paring down the projects, ditching the border parts...
Updated 6:00pm 02May16
Car (YouHaul)
- 1980 SAAB 99 GLi (pics below): complete Idaho car, yellow w/ beige interior, mostly rust free...but recently found a crunchy, soft spot on each of the door bottoms (different places) & a quarter-sized hole in the rear of each rear wheel wells, one 3" linear ding crossing over the driver door trailing edge & door jamb/B-pillar. I drove this for a while before having to park it. Non-running, known engines issue were a weepy water pump and an overheating issue that I never diagnosed. I seem to remember a electrical drain which killed the battery. Windshield has a leak. Saugerties/Woodstock, NY 12477
$500-
SOLD: Lot of 14 Shelbys, OEM SAAB C900 rally skidplate, 60xxx mile 1978 SAAB 99 Turbo project, most of the Euro-spec lighting stuff, SuperSprint exhaust kits

Got someone ahead of you chomping at the bit for a post-Xmas pick-up...
...but, yeah, if that falls thru, you can up your rim purchase from me to well over 2 dozen. :D
(yes? was it 7 + 7 originally from Sweet's/RallyHo's stash?)

there were 7 drilled soccerballs as I recall. None of the 8 spokes went to me though. I have slowly been acquiring 8 spokes though.

At the SOC13 yeah...
The other 7 were Minilites. You picked them up in Castleton. No?

Thanks for the reminder about the '80.
Repeating: 1980 SAAB 99 GLi : complete Idaho car, yellow w/ beige interior, mostly rust free...but recently found a crunchy, soft spot on each of the door bottoms (different places) & a quarter-sized hole in the rear of each rear wheel wells, one 3" linear ding crossing over the driver door trailing edge & door jamb/B-pillar. $500-
I have these pics from 4ys ago just before I re-acquired it from a friend (Roger Podob, some of you know him) and will try to get a few today**.
Its history: Originally brought in from Idaho, I purchased the non-running car in '02 in proxy for my buddy who wanted another 99, had a lower mileage (60Kmi IIRC) engine installed, and sold it to him for my cost. He drove it in southern MD for ~10yrs, taking frequent trips in it to his hometown NYC, then he got married and gave it back to me...
Along the way, he added '85 900 front hubs, MSS headers, MSS exhaust, MSS lightened flywheel, quick ratio steering rack, and (IIRC) solid Al rack bushings..
This car handled very well on the backroads even with the Vred snow tires.
Three other issues I just recalled:
- one of the front brake disk's dust shields rattled
- there was a leak point somewhere high up in the fuel filler neck
- there' a 'wow' in the front driver wheel well lip at about 1:30
Edit for one more another sniggling issue with it:
- a sticky ignition key cylinder mechanism
Except for the headlamps (out), the yellow Cibies (keeping them), now-bent antenna, and the extra paint oxidation...
....these pics are physically representative of the car today...
This car needs to be saved but, with two other rojects in the wings, I don't have the resources to do it.
** It's stuffed in a narrow garage so pic detail might be limited

Good luck with the sale of these, hopefully someone can bring them back!
This is one of those FS ads I'm going to kick myself for not doing anything about in 10 years when these sorts of deals are nowhere to be found...

Sean,
I'm very interested in both the skid plate and the 99 2/4 exhaust.
What diameter pipe is the exhaust ?
What's your status for shipping ?

I think I've answered all the questions, PMs, and shipping quote requests.
Still owe some pics to one of you folks (you know who you are)
Let me know if I missed something other than that...
Some edits done to the posts above, biggest one was noting the recently found rust on the '80 GLi, desciption updated to add "..mostly rust free...but recently found a soft spot on each of the door bottoms (probably from sitting so long) & a quarter-sized hole in the rear of each rear wheel wells..."

I'll take the skid plate if it's not sold.
