99 Fuel Return Check Valve?

Postby 99Super » Sat Mar 19, 2016 4:17 pm

Is there a good replacement for the fuel return check valve on a 99?

I finally replaced Frank's turbo today and after starting it to burn off the oil, I find that the check valve back by the tank is leaking.

Anybody know of a good alternative?
Is it even really necessary or should I just bypass it?

I'm leaning towards bypass...

Is it the one of the vacuum line back to the charcoal filter/air intake? How did yo notice it was leaking, just by fumes? I guess you could bypass it.. isn't it only there to help stop gas leaking if you flip the car?

No, it's the one over the gas tank, behind the rear suspension. It's a pain to get to.

I found the one I stripped off the 76 last fall and used it, plus new flex line and clamps.

Since this one will fail as well, I bought one of these:
