I finished most of the mechanical work on my $500 900 over the winter but before it gets on the road it needs the axle tunnel/control arm frame mount repair done. Before i send it over to the welder, does anyone have a recommendation as to how it should be done? I already have the panels in hand from saabbits.com I don't have the extensive type of rust that they show in their repair guide here https://www.saabits.com/articles/projec ... nel-repair
I only have the issue to the front of the axle. Any recommendation if the whole spread from end to end should be replaced anyway? I cleaned it banged it with a hammer pretty good and the rear portion is solid. Rest of the car is pretty clean with only minor issues here and there. Only one small rust bubble on one rear fender on the outside which is awesome.

There is no such thing as too low or too stiff.
