Yeah. Yankton Tuned...their site shows all carbon products discontinued and molds for sale...except for the 900 hood which shows already sold.

Composite hoods
I got the mold used from a guy that used to race a 99 in ITB. The mold was in pretty bad shape so I had to resurface it. I'll look up the specs on the kevlar I used but everything I got either came from Fiberglast.com or Aircraft spruce. I used all epoxy resin which has really low shrinkage so the the hood fits really well. The kevlar is awesome stuff but its a pain to work with because its almost impossible to cut.
Keep in mind that Luke is removing weight from the most important area- the front of the car. On a nose heavy car like the 99 or 900, it helps most up front. With the new rally car I am paying a lot of attention not to overall weight but to weight distribution. On the old car we moved as much as possible rearward and still ended up with a twitchy, very light rear end and a nose heavy front end. It got to the point of running events with a nearly full tank of gas just to help balance the car.
Mike, for the 900 hood it really helps to remove the hinge assembly and the ribbing from the back of the sheetmetal. Still metal I know, but it is noticeably lighter until those mythical fiberglass hoods from sweden show up.

Hey J-Ball! Yeah, I'm down with the struggle to remove weight high up and at both ends. The 1400 feet of roll bar tubing I'm welding in is sure to make the 2wd Open class minimum weight a moot point!
Anyway, the rear hatch really needs to meet Mr. Plasma Cutter...as does the hood. There is a lot of ribbing, hindges, attachment points that can go.
A carbon or kevlar hood may not be in the cards (@ $900 to buy) unless we can come up with some way to build-to-sell a few.
