I have several serviceable engine blocks and crankshafts for my '92 900S ChumpCar, but the pistons are looking kind of dismal. I can locate piston rings (or have been able to in the past) but pistons are nowhere to be found.
Anyone know of a good substitute? Cheap is important as this is Chumpcar racing.
Other suggestions welcome.
BTW, found a set of NEW 2.0L B-engine non-turbo pistons in the garage. I will probably put them up on eBay, but I have my doubts that there will be much interest. $50?

I'd definitely take those, I'm running an N/A B202 in my 99 and don't have another set.
Sorry, I don't have any 2.1 parts. I've got some B202T pistons, but those would probably drop the compression ratio too much for your liking.

The 2.1L pistons are 93mm, while the 2.0L pistons are only 90mm.
Haven't checked part numbers, but are the B-engine pistons (thru 1980) the same as the B201 (a.k.a H-engine) and B202 pistons? The diameter should be the same, but what about other specs?

I'm sure they're different.
(I should not have martinis before I try to do anything useful on forums.)
My white '73 still has the B20 in it - I'd still take them for spares, unless someone else needs them to actually get a car out on the road.

I might have a good set of used ones. The motor had only 125k or so. I'll let you know this weekend.

Drew,
I've used B201 pistons in B20 motors in the past w/ no problems. Most of the internals are interchangeable on the engines (Pistons, rods, wrist pins, bearings, valves, springs, lifters, etc.) so I'm sure you won't have any problems. At worst, a bit lower compression.

I used to 88+ rods (stronger) in my 16 B motor and had to reduce the thickness a little on a surface grinder to get the right clearance at the crank journal. Also the early pistons use a slightly smaller wrist pin I've found.

That's really good to know, in that case I have plenty of spares!

Re: Pistons for a 2.1L / B212
I keep forgetting to bring home my impact gun to zip out the pistons from the block and see if they are worth sending. I haven't forgotten about it though...just never at the right time.
